Significant advancements have been made in addressing the critical issue of location privacy in Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs), a crucial component of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), through an innovative blockchain-based trust management approach. VANETs, known for their high mobility, have long faced security challenges, particularly concerning Location-Based Services (LBS). The novel solution enables vehicles to request LBS while safeguarding their personal data through a secure verification process. Vehicle privacy is ensured by establishing anonymous zones, and vehicle behavior is regulated using an advanced trust management algorithm. Integration of blockchain technology further enhances data security, creating a robust and impregnable system architecture. Rigorous testing has demonstrated the system's resilience against various trust model-based attacks, underscoring its effectiveness in protecting vehicle privacy. Simulation results confirm the practicality of the proposed approach in real-world VANET scenarios, suggesting a promising future for secure and private Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). |
