Title Speech-Controlled Home Automation System Based on IoT
Abstract Technology has made it possible to control and monitor electrical appliances through sound using applications and an internet connection. This advancement offers greater convenience in managing electrical devices across homes, schools, and commercial spaces globally. By leveraging the Internet of Things (IoT), we can control various products, such as lights, power sockets, fans, computers, and security systems. This approach not only enhances energy efficiency but also reduces energy consumption. A home appliance is typically an electrical device designed for a specific function, like a refrigerator, intended for household use. The terms appliance and device are often used interchangeably. Automation refers to the technology that allows devices to be controlled automatically, often handling basic tasks like turning appliances on and off remotely or locally. However, the challenge remains that fewer devices are being monitored, leading to safety concerns and higher energy consumption. To address this, we propose a solution that integrates a computer system with an internet connection, an IoT Ethernet shield to connect the host to the external network, and an Arduino microcontroller with an application wired to control the devices. The prototype system is designed to support devices that only need to be turned on or off. This IoT-based home automation system focuses on managing electronic devices inside or outside the home, ultimately saving power and promoting energy efficiency.
